Ca’ Foscari University of Venice has officially opened applications for its 41st cycle of PhD programs for the 2025/2026 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring researchers worldwide to study at one of Italy’s most prestigious universities, located in Venice, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Scholarship Benefits

Each scholarship includes:

• Annual grant of €16,243 (before tax), with a 50% increase for research periods abroad

Who Can Apply?

Open to applicants of all nationalities. International students are encouraged to apply. Non-EU candidates will receive full support for visa applications and residence permits.

Eligibility Criteria

• A Master’s degree or equivalent (to be completed by November 15, 2025)

• English proficiency at B2 level (can be met by December 31, 2025)

• Additional requirements may apply for specific PhD programs (see official annex)

2. Pay the €15 application fee via PagoPA

3. Upload required documents:

   • CV

   • Research proposal

   • Degree certificates and transcripts

   • Valid ID

   • Up to two reference letters (optional)

Selection Process:

• Evaluation of qualifications

• Written and/or oral test

• Interview (can be conducted via videoconference)
