The CAS-ANSO Scholarship (Degree Program) 2025 is an esteemed international initiative offering talented researchers and students from across the globe the chance to pursue advanced education and research in China. This scholarship, managed by the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations (ANSO), aims to develop scientific talent to address global challenges, foster innovation, and promote sustainable development.
For 2025, applications are open for fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarships at two top-tier Chinese institutions:
- University of Science and Technology of China (USTC)
- University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS)
What is the CAS-ANSO Scholarship?
Established in 2019, the CAS-ANSO Scholarship supports over 500 students annually through fully funded postgraduate programs. The program includes both Master’s and PhD tracks and is primarily funded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In 2022, ANSO expanded its support to students from developing and least developed countries (LDCs) through the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship, further promoting gender inclusivity and scientific equity.

In partnership with the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and UNESCO, this scholarship program provides additional financial support to PhD candidates, particularly from the Global South, ensuring inclusivity and substantial impact.

Scholarship Benefits

Eligible Nationalities
The CAS-ANSO China Scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities.
Eligibility Criteria for CAS-ANSO Scholarship 2025
To be eligible for the CAS-ANSO Scholarship 2025, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- Non-Chinese Nationality: Applicants must hold citizenship from a country other than China.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in either English or Chinese is required.
- Age Requirements:
- For Master’s applicants: Born on or after January 1, 1995.
- For PhD applicants: Born on or after January 1, 1990.
- Admission Requirements: Candidates must meet the admission criteria set by USTC or UCAS.
- Current Enrollment: Applicants must not be pursuing a degree in China at the time of application.
- Application Restrictions: Candidates cannot apply to both USTC and UCAS simultaneously.
Important Note: Scholarship recipients are expected to comply with Chinese laws and adhere to the institutional regulations of USTC and UCAS. Failure to meet academic or behavioral standards may result in the termination of the scholarship.

The application cycle for the 2025 CAS-ANSO Scholarship opened on October 20, 2024, and the deadline for submission is February 15, 2025.
