Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Chinese Government Scholarships (CSC) 2025 at the Beijing Institute of Technology, applicants must meet the following criteria:
General Requirements
- Citizenship: Be a non-Chinese citizen.
- Health: Maintain good health, both mentally and physically.
- Compliance: Observe the laws, regulations, and rules of the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT).
Academic Qualifications
- For Master’s Programs:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent).
- Be under the age of 35 at the time of application.
- For Ph.D. Programs:
- Hold a master’s degree (or its equivalent).
- Be under the age of 40 at the time of application.
Language Proficiency
Applicants must provide language proficiency certificates based on the medium of instruction for their chosen program:
For Chinese-Taught Programs:
- HSK Level 5 Certificate: Must have a score of 180 or above.
For English-Taught Programs:
- TOEFL: Minimum score of 85
- IELTS: Overall band score of 6.0
- Duolingo English Test: Score of 110
Note: Native English speakers are exempt from this requirement, and other language certificates recognized by BIT are also accepted.
Work Experience
- Applicants for MBA programs must have at least one year of relevant work or internship experience.

Application Period
- First Round (Recommended for Scholarship Applicants):
October 15, 2024, to February 15, 2025 - Second Round (For Scholarship Applicants):
February 16, 2025, to April 15, 2025 - For Self-Funded Applicants:
October 15, 2024, to June 15, 2025
Steps in the Application Procedure
1. Online Registration
- Register at: Beijing Institute of Technology Application Portal.
- CSC applicants: Must first register at Chinese Government Scholarship Application and upload the required documents.
- BIT’s Agency No.: 10007
- Scholarship Type: B
2. Material Review & Application Fee
- Applicants who pass the initial material review will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee of CNY 600 through the online system.
3. Comprehensive Interview
- Applicants who pay the application fee will be invited to a Comprehensive Interview.
- The time and method of the interview will be communicated via email.
4. Academic Review & Further Reviews
- After the interview, applicants will undergo Academic and Further Reviews.
- It is recommended to contact BIT advisors before or during the admission process.
- Note: Do not wait for the results of the Comprehensive Interview to proceed.
5. Pre-Admission
- Applicants who pass the academic and further reviews will receive a Pre-Admission Notice.
6. Final Result (Official Admission)
- The official admission result will be sent via email around July.
