William P. Fuller Fellowship 2025 in Peacebuilding – USA (The Asia Foundation)

The Asia Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025 William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding. This prestigious international fellowship is designed to empower early to mid-career professionals committed to resolving conflict and fostering peace across the Asia-Pacific region.

Named in honor of former Asia Foundation president William P. Fuller, the fellowship supports emerging leaders involved in peace research, policy development, advocacy, and community-level initiatives.

Fellowship Level & Fields of Study

This is a fellowship-level program available to professionals working in:

  • Peace Studies

  • Peacebuilding

Fellowship Benefits

Selected fellows will receive:

  • A fully-funded U.S. study tour from October 13–24, 2025, visiting San Francisco, New York City, and Washington, D.C.

  • Access to virtual seminars through The Asia Foundation’s Peace and Stability, and Leadership and Exchange programs.

  • A professional development grant to support individual projects or career advancement.

  • Lifetime access to a regional and global peacebuilding network of changemakers.

Eligible Countries

Applicants must be citizens of one of the following countries or regions:

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pacific Islands, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be 40 years old or younger (born after October 13, 1985)

  • Hold citizenship from one of the eligible countries

  • Be fluent in English

  • Have at least 3 years of professional experience in a relevant field

  • Show proven leadership potential

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to peacebuilding and conflict resolution

  • Be available for the entire U.S. study tour (October 13–24, 2025)

  • Be able to secure a U.S. visa
