Eligibility Criteria
As a Clegg Scholar, you will participate in a 16-day virtual placement with The BMJ and BMJ Student, with the possibility of in-office work at their London headquarters. This program is tailored to your interests and offers various responsibilities, including:
- Pitching and writing articles for BMJ Student and other BMJ sections.
- Editing and researching content aimed at medical students.
- Creating multimedia and social media content for BMJ’s platforms.
- Attending press conferences and conducting interviews remotely.
This flexible placement allows students to customize their experience, either as part of their medical elective or extracurricular activity.
Application Procedure
To apply for the 2025 BMJ Clegg Scholarship, submit the following documents in one file:
- Cover Letter (Maximum 400 words): Include why you’re a suitable candidate, your availability (March–June 2025), your medical school, and your current year of study.
- CV: Maximum 2 pages.
- Sample Article: Write a BMJ Opinion-style article on a topic you would like to publish as a Clegg Scholar.
Submission Deadline
Applications close at 9 am on Monday, January 13, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed via video call in February 2025.
