Brave of Heart Nursing Scholarship 2025, USA $10,000

The Brave of Heart Nursing Scholarship was established by the Brave of Heart Fund, a collaboration between the Foundations of Cigna and New York Life. Administered by E4E Relief, this scholarship aims to support students pursuing an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN or BSN) who are committed to positively impacting healthcare outcomes in the communities they serve.

Scholarship Information

• Award Amount: $2,500 – $10,000

• Deadline: May 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM CDT

• Eligibility: Current undergraduate students pursuing a nursing degree

• Institutions: Open to students attending two-year or four-year accredited institutions nationwide.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Brave of Heart Nursing Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a current college undergraduate who will earn an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) by September 2026.

• Plan to enroll in full-time or part-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the 2025-26 academic year (Fall and/or Spring semesters).

• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

• Be in good academic standing according to their school’s policy.

• Demonstrate financial need.

Award Details

The Brave of Heart Nursing Scholarship provides financial support ranging from $2,500 to $10,000.

• Full-time BSN students will receive $10,000 annually (paid $5,000 per semester).

• Full-time ADN students will receive $5,000 annually (paid $2,500 per semester).

• Part-time students will receive half of the award amount.

Please note that the award is a one-time grant for undergraduate study only.

Notification and Payment

• Notification: All applicants will be notified of their award status by late June.

• Payment: Scholarship payments will be processed by Scholarship America and disbursed in mid-August.

Selection Criteria

Recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:

1. Essays (2 required):

   • Essay 1: Reflect on a significant event or hardship that created an obstacle in your academic or career goals. How did this impact your path, and what actions helped you overcome it? Share the top two lessons you learned.

   • Essay 2: Where do you see yourself in 10-15 years? Describe your long-term career goals, the community you wish to serve with your nursing degree, the health challenges they face, and how you plan to make a difference.

2. Academic Record: Transcripts will be reviewed to assess your academic standing.

3. Leadership & Community Involvement: Demonstrated leadership in school and community activities.

4. Work Experience: Relevant work experience in the healthcare or service sectors.

5. Optional Statement: An additional statement outlining any unusual personal or family circumstances.

Financial need will also be assessed based on the information provided by Scholarship America.

Application Requirements

To apply, you must submit the following materials:

1. A current, complete transcript (grade reports not accepted). The transcript must include:

   • Your name

   • School name

   • Grades

   • Credit hours for each course and term.

2. A copy of the first two pages of your most recent IRS Form 1040 (used for the financial section of the application). Make sure to black out all Social Security numbers and bank account details.

Incomplete applications will not be considered, so ensure all required documents are submitted electronically.

The program is managed by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and education support programs. Scholarship eligibility is determined by the sponsor, and all applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
