The CGS-MSFSS program promotes knowledge exchange and exploration through international research. Here are some key factors to keep in mind:
Duration
- Minimum: 2 months

Start Date
- Your research must begin after the application deadline and within one year of receiving the award notification.
- Leaving Canada before the results are announced may lead to non-payment for unfunded applications.
Award Timeline
- The supplement must begin before your CGS or Vanier CGS award ends and cannot be claimed during an award interruption.
Finding the Perfect Research Environment
The CGS-MSFSS opens doors to a wide range of research environments, including:
- Foreign universities
- Inter-university research centers
- International or national research institutes or laboratories
- Other institutions with a research mandate
