Fully Funded Confucius Institute Scholarship 2025 at Xiamen University, China

Xiamen University (XMU) has opened the application for the Confucius Institute Scholarship 2025/2026. The scholarship sponsors outstanding foreign students who want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language. The scholarship promotes international academic and cultural exchange by providing a full scholarship to study at one of China’s top universities.

Scholarship Benefits

• Full Tuition Coverage: Four years of undergraduate studies in Chinese Language

• Free On-Campus Accommodation: Provided by Xiamen University

• Health Insurance: Full coverage for the duration of the program

• Monthly Living Stipend: RMB 1,800 per month

Eligible Nationalities

Open to international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health

• Hold a high school diploma with a strong academic record

• Be under the age of 30 as of September 1, 2025

• Be recommended by a Confucius Institute or its partner university

• Must not be receiving any other scholarships at the time of application

Priority will be given to applicants from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Application Process

1. Submit your application online via the XMU portal: http://application.xmu.edu.cn

2. Upload the required documents as a single PDF file:

   • Completed application form

   • Certified copies of academic documents (high school diploma, transcripts, etc.)

   • Recommendation letter from a Confucius Institute or partner university

   • Statement of purpose (maximum 500 words)

   • Copy of valid passport

   • Proof of language proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent)

Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated based on:

• Academic performance and language skills

• Quality of the recommendation

• Motivation and clarity in the statement of purpose

• Overall potential for cultural and academic contribution

Final decisions will be made by the CI Scholarship Leadership Group. Successful candidates will be notified by June 2025.
