Types of Scholarships

1. Academic Scholarships

  • Awarded For: Outstanding academic results, including performance in the Scholarship Examination, an interview, and submission of an academic portfolio.
  • Coverage: Up to 100% of tuition fees (additional charges for excursions, optional lessons, etc.)
  • Requirements: Strong academic record and engagement in school activities.
  • Examination Details:
    • Date: Friday, 14 February 2025
    • Areas Tested: Abstract reasoning, mathematics, reading comprehension, and written expression.
  • Interview Process: Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.
  • Scholarship Obligations: Scholars must maintain high academic standards and participate in co-curricular activities, with an annual review.
  • Eligible Applicants:
    • Australian citizens
    • Students entering Year 7 in 2026

2. Music Scholarships

  • Awarded For: Exceptional musical talent (voice or any instrument: strings, choral, brass, woodwind, percussion, keyboard, contemporary music).
  • Coverage: Full or partial remission of tuition fees and full remission of instrumental lesson fees.
  • Requirements: Commitment to the music program in current school and submission of a video performance.
  • Audition Process:
    • Submit a video recording of two contrasting pieces (6-8 minutes).
    • Shortlisted applicants will attend an in-person audition and interview on Thursday, 13 February 2025.
  • Scholarship Obligations: Scholars must excel in both music and academics, participate in music ensembles, and study elective music through Year 9 to the HSC/IB Diploma Programme.
  • Eligible Applicants:
    • Australian citizens
    • Students entering Year 7 in 2026

3. Coeducation Scholarships

  • Awarded For: Demonstrating Cranbrook’s core values like respect, excellence, and leadership through service.

  • Requirements: A commitment to learning, critical thinking, and school involvement.

    • Students entering Year 7 or Year 11 in 2026

4. Excellence Scholarship

  • Awarded For: A girl entering Year 11 who shows excellence in academics, music, leadership, and potential for growth.
  • Eligibility: Open to Australian citizens and students entering Year 11 in 2026.
  • Examination and Interview: Applicants must attend the scholarship examination and, if shortlisted, an interview.
  • Scholarship Obligations: Recipients must maintain high academic and co-curricular standards.

How to Apply

  1. Register Online: Complete your application by Wednesday, 5 February 2025.
  2. Submit a Portfolio: Include recent school reports, NAPLAN results, awards, and co-curricular activities (via the Academic Assessment Services website).
