DAAD-EMPM Scholarships
Description:
The DAAD-EMPM Scholarship for 2024 in Germany (Fully Funded) is now open for applications from International Students. This scholarship caters to Master’s and Bachelor’s level programs across various fields taught at universities in Germany. The deadline for applications is July 2nd, 2024.
Objective of DAAD-EU Mobility Programme for Myanmar (EMPM):
The primary objective of this program is to offer educational and training opportunities for Myanmar’s next generation. It specifically aims to enhance mobility options for students within the ASEAN member states. EMPM will provide scholarships to Myanmar students for pursuing transfer degrees at universities within ASEAN.
What can be funded? Candidates can apply for the same or equivalent subject area as their current major, provided it’s offered by participating universities within ASEAN and can be completed successfully within the scholarship period. Both Bachelor’s and Master’s studies are eligible for funding.
Duration of Funding:
The funding is available until December 31st, 2026, initially granted for a maximum of one year. Extensions are subject to the selection committee’s assessment of the successful completion of the previous award period.

Benefits:
Participants of the DAAD-EMPM Scholarship can enjoy the following benefits:
- International travel allowance (provided in two installments), including coverage for student visa/permit fees if applicable.
- Coverage of tuition fees, university fees, and insurance fees if required.
- Monthly scholarship stipend of €500.
Eligible Nationalities:
The DAAD-EMPM Scholarship is available to students from Myanmar.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the DAAD-EMPM Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- They must be enrolled students with Myanmar citizenship.
- They must have been unable to continue their higher education pathways since March 2020.
- Earlier years of studies are not eligible for consideration.

Required Documents:
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- Completed online application form (accessible through the DAAD portal).
- Official academic transcript in English, including credit points and individual course grades.
- Letter of Admission (LoA) from the chosen EMPM host university confirming enrollment and remaining program requirements (e.g., semesters or credits needed to graduate).
- Letter of Motivation (approximately 2,000 words) addressing various aspects.
- Copy of Myanmar National Registration Card (NRC).
- Copy of a valid passport.
- Copy of official household documentation from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population (MoLIP) Township Office.
- Proof of English language skills (if available).
- Curriculum vitae (resume).
- Recent passport-sized photograph.
Submission Instructions:
- Applications must be submitted electronically through the DAAD portal only. Applications sent elsewhere will not be considered.
- The DAAD portal closes at midnight Central European Summer Time (CEST) on the application deadline.
- Incomplete applications will be disqualified. Ensure all required documents are included.
- The application portal is only accessible during the application period.
