The KAIST University Undergraduate Scholarship 2023-2024 offers full funding for international master’s students. It includes tuition fees, a monthly allowance of up to 800,000 KRW, a round-trip ticket, language training, and medical insurance.

KAIST International Student Scholarship:

  • Full tuition fee exemption for 8 semesters
  • Monthly allowance of 350,000 KRW
  • Medical health insurance coverage

Global Korea Scholarship:

  • Full tuition fee exemption for 8 semesters
  • Monthly allowance of 800,000 KRW
  • One economy round-trip airfare
  • One-year Korean language training fee

Mandatory Korean Language Training:

  • Completion of Korean language training within one year is required.
  • To be eligible for degree programs, students must achieve a minimum TOPIK grade of 3.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the KAIST University Undergraduate Scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

Language Proficiency:

  • Applicants must be proficient in English.


  • The scholarship is open to applicants from all countries except for those who hold Korean citizenship (dual citizenship).

Academic Qualifications:

  • For the Spring Semester of 2023 (Early only), applicants must have graduated from high school by February 28th, 2023.
  • For the Fall Semester of 2023, applicants must have graduated or will graduate from high school by August 31st, 2023.

How to Apply:

Firstly, visit the KAIST University official website and fill out the online application form. It is essential that you provide accurate and complete information, including personal details, academic achievements, and extracurricular activities.

Once you have completed the application form, the next step is to pay the application fee of USD 80 or 80,000 KRW. This can be done through a credit card or bank transfer. Keep in mind that your application will not be considered until the fee is paid.

Finally, you will need to upload scanned copies of the following additional required documents on the application page. It is important to ensure that the uploaded copies are certified by the school principal or the head/director of the organization and must be clear and legible:

  • Recommendation Letter
  • Secondary/Tertiary School Profile
  • High School/University Transcript
  • Standardized Official Test Report
  • English Proficiency Test Report
  • Passport or National ID
  • Statement of Financial Resources – KAIST Scholarship
  • Statement of Financial Resources – Sponsorship
  • Honors and Awards (Optional)

Please note that failure to submit any of these documents may lead to disqualification from the scholarship.


The applicants for spring 2023 must have completed their high school by February 2023 .

The applicants for fall 2023 must have completed their high school by August 2023.
