Eligibility Criteria

1. Embassy Recommendation

Application Process:

• April–July 2025: Apply through your local Japanese Embassy or Consulate

• By September 1, 2025: Request a Letter of Provisional Acceptance from the University of Tsukuba

• Sept–Oct 2025: Submit your acceptance letter to the Embassy

• Nov 2025 – March 2026: MEXT conducts final screening

• April or October 2026: Enroll at Tsukuba

2. University Recommendation

A. General Program

• Open to Master’s and PhD applicants from MEXT-designated countries
