Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with Coursera to provide learning scholarships that offer Nigerian citizens the opportunity to acquire professional certifications from renowned multinational tech companies such as Meta, Google, IBM, and esteemed universities in the United States.
Under this collaboration, each scholar will receive a six-month access to Coursera’s platform. During this period, scholars are expected to utilize their time effectively by completing numerous professional certifications. However, it is important to note that scholars can only be enrolled in one certification program at a time. As part of the application process, individuals are required to select one certification program from Category A and one from Category B, indicating their preference for enrollment.

Scholarship Details:
In Category A (IT Career Pathway), there are a total of 19 professional certification programs available to help you initiate a successful IT career. Each program consists of a series of interconnected courses designed to provide in-depth knowledge and hands-on skills necessary for employment. Upon completing each individual course within a program, you will receive a certificate of completion. However, the professional certification will be awarded upon successfully finishing all the required courses in the program.
Category B (Complementary Skills Pathway) offers four certification programs that you can choose from to enhance your IT career skills and refine your proficiency in using digital productivity tools, entrepreneurship, or freelancing skills.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the NITDA/Coursera Scholarship for Nigerian Citizens, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
- Must be a Nigerian citizen.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be committed to completing all the mandatory courses within the chosen program.
