The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Basel’s Databases and Information Systems research group invites applications for three fully funded Ph.D. positions in Advanced Data Management (100%) for a four-year duration. These positions are available for immediate occupancy and will remain open until all slots are filled.

The research group’s primary focus is Polypheny, an innovative multi-model database system embracing the concept of an advanced polystore. Polypheny seamlessly integrates various data models, including relational, graph, and document, alongside diverse query languages. This integration facilitates polyglot access to a range of data stores. The project is an integral part of the Polypheny-DDI (Distributed Data Infrastructure) project, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, with a goal to bolster Data Science applications.
