The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship program aims to support students from Egypt in pursuing undergraduate or master’s studies at prestigious universities in the United States. Candidates who have not resided, studied, or worked abroad for an extended period will receive preferential consideration during the selection process. The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is exclusively available for the following universities: The University of Chicago, Stanford University, Harvard University, and The University of Pennsylvania.

Scholarship Coverage:
To be eligible for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program, you must meet the following criteria:
For Undergraduates:
- Be Egyptian nationals and residents of Egypt (preference not given to dual nationality applicants).
- Plan to commence studies in the U.S.A in 2024.
- Commit to returning to Egypt for two years immediately after completing the bachelor’s degree.
- Have not resided abroad for more than three years.
- iBT TOEFL: 100 or above.
- GPA 3.5 / 90% in Thanaweyya Amma certification (Secondary year) or equivalent.
- Minimum SAT I Score:
- Old SAT (before May 2016): Overall: 2100, Reading: 700, Math: 700, Writing: 700.
- New SAT (after May 2016): Overall: 1450, Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 730, Math: 730.
- SAT II in three subjects: 600 or above.
- Engage in extracurricular activities.
For Masters:
- Be Egyptian nationals and residents of Egypt (preference given to non-holders of dual nationality).
- Intend to pursue a master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering at a top U.S. university.
- Have not lived abroad for more than three years.
- Commit to returning to Egypt for two years after completing the bachelor’s degree.
- TOEFL iBT: 100 or above.
- GPA: 3.5 / Very Good or above (overall grade).
- Minimum of three years of work experience.
- MBA-GMAT: 650 or above (taken within five years).
- Involved or currently involved in extracurricular activities.
- Old GRE scores are not accepted.
- New GRE scores: Minimum acceptable overall: 302, Analytical Writing: 4.5.
- Fields of Study: Engineering, Business Administration, and Construction Management.

- Here are the key points regarding the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program:
- Candidates with an Egyptian Master’s degree in a different technical field than the one they are applying for will be considered.
- Candidates who already hold a Master’s degree from a foreign university or possess an Egyptian Master’s degree in the same field they are applying for will not be considered.
- Nomination for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program does not guarantee acceptance into a university. Applicants will receive support in applying to approved universities, and the scholarship will be awarded once university acceptance is obtained.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have not resided, worked, or studied abroad for an extended period.
- The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is exclusively granted to a list of endorsed universities.

- Provide your educational details in the application.
- Answer the two questions in the Statement of Purpose section:
- Q1: Discuss how attending the university you wish to apply for would help you achieve success on personal, local, and national levels, considering the related concerns. Write a 500-word essay addressing this question. Remember that the essay is a crucial part of your application.
- Q2: Share your passions and how you have pursued them throughout your life. Write a 350-word essay on this topic. Keep in mind that the essay is an important part of your application.
