Selection Criteria:

Candidates will be selected based on their demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, coupled with strong leadership and academic performance. The program actively encourages applications from historically underrepresented groups in technology, including Women, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander.

Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be full-time students in a Bachelor’s program or high school seniors for the 2023-2024 academic year.
  • Intend to enroll or be accepted as full-time students in a Bachelor’s program in the U.S. or Canada for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Pursue studies in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance and financial need.
  • Exhibit leadership and a passion for enhancing the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.

Note: Previous recipients of specific scholarships are ineligible to reapply.

Application Process:

Complete an online application, including:

  • General background information.
  • Family and household details.
  • Resume/CV.
  • One letter of recommendation.
  • Academic transcripts.
  • Responses to two short essay questions, each limited to 500 words.

Essay Questions:

  1. Describe a situation where you navigated a complex problem without a clear solution. Detail the steps taken, resources considered, and lessons learned.
  2. Share a personal experience of a barrier to equitable access in technology. Identify the root cause, actions you’ve taken, and future plans to address the issue.
