Nishimura Foundation Japan International Scholarships 2025 (Fully Funded)

The Nishimura Foundation International Scholarship 2025 is now open for applications! This prestigious and fully funded scholarship supports Indonesian students to pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate studies at top-tier Japanese universities.

Scholarship Benefits

• Monthly Stipend: ¥130,000 for living expenses

• Travel + Setup Grant: One-time ¥150,000

• Program Duration:

  • 2 years for Master’s

  • 3 years for PhD

• Funding Disbursement: Every 3 months

• Application Fee: None

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be an Indonesian citizen

• Be a graduate of UGM, ITB, UI, or UNAIR

• Apply for S1, S2, or S3 at an eligible Japanese university

• Self-fund their study program (excluding living expenses)

• Meet GPA requirements:

  • 3.0 for undergraduate

  • 3.5 for master’s

• Show financial need

• Have or be willing to learn Japanese language

• Show interest in Japanese culture and bilateral relations

Note: Online learning applicants are not eligible unless residing in Osaka.

Required Documents

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)

• Research Proposal (English or Japanese)

• Motivation Letter (English or Japanese)

• Legalized Academic Transcripts & Certificates

• Language Proficiency Certificate (English or Japanese)

• Two Letters of Recommendation:

  • From a university lecturer or faculty member

  • From an Academic Advisor, Head of Program, or Dean

• Letter of Acceptance (LoA) – can be submitted later

3. Submit all materials by 10 December 2025

4. Attend interviews scheduled for May 2026 (for April 2026 intake)

5. Submit LoA when available (by February 2026)

All physical documents must arrive in Yogyakarta by the deadline.
