Director of Programmes Role:
The British Council is in search of a Director of Programmes to lead strategic implementation in Ghana. This pivotal role entails operational leadership, ensuring compliance, managing risks, and establishing partnerships aligned with the Council’s vision. The director will spearhead change initiatives, contribute to strategy development, oversee cultural engagements, and effectively manage programs.
Role Requirements:
Essential: Graduate degree or equivalent experience, substantial program management expertise. Desirable: Financial control qualifications, project management certification, experience in client-funded initiatives (e.g., FCDO, EU, World Bank).
Role-Specific Skills:
- Over 5 years of program or large project leadership.
- Proficiency in managing multi-country programs, meeting closure standards, and audit compliance.
- Expertise in diverse funding sources, compliance rules, consortium arrangements, contract management, risk mitigation, and relationship building.
- Extensive experience leading dispersed project teams.
