Internship Details
Application Deadline: January 31st, 2025
To apply for the internship, you must be located in the United States for the duration of the program. Proficiency in English is also required to ensure smooth communication across teams globally.
Required Application Materials:
- Updated CV/Resume: Include graduation dates (MM/YY), technical experience, research topics, statistical skills, survey data analysis, and relevant publications.
- Transcript: Submit an unofficial or official transcript in English.
- Presentation: If selected, prepare a 1-2 slide presentation showcasing your research findings and their potential impact at Google. Focus on presenting to a business (non-academic) audience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Social Psychology, or related fields.
- Experience designing, developing, and conducting survey or experimental research.
- Proficiency in data analysis using statistical tools like R, SPSS, STATA, or similar languages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in a US-based degree program and availability to work full-time for 12 weeks during the summer (outside of academic term time).
- Applied research experience within organizations.
- Expertise in one of the following areas:
- Performance management and productivity
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
- Selection and assessment (psychometric methods)
- Decision science and behavior change
- Quantitative text analysis
- Advanced statistical analysis skills (e.g., ANOVA, regression, factor analysis, HLM, SEM).
- Proficiency in R for statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Experience with SQL and scripting languages, along with best practices for future-proofing code.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the People Analytics team to design, implement, and analyze studies that inform business decisions.
- Communicate research findings and actionable recommendations to leadership to drive data-driven change.
- Write clear research briefs and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct statistical analysis using tools like R to evaluate survey and archival data.
- Provide insights on topics including decision-making, employee well-being, leadership, DEI, performance development, and more.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary Range: $92,000 – $109,000 (based on location, experience, and skills).
- Additional Benefits: Bonus, equity, and other benefits not included in the salary range.
