  • Renewable Scholarship: The Main Street Scholarship automatically renews for four years, the standard duration of a U.S. bachelor’s degree program.

This scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria:

If you are accepted to Capital University, you will receive your merit scholarship offer along with your admission offer, allowing you to begin planning your journey to Capital right away.

First-year applicants:

  • The exact amount you receive will be determined by your high school GPA, converted to the U.S. scale.

Transfer applicants:

  • The exact amount you receive will be determined by your university GPA, converted to the U.S. scale.

Additional Scholarships:

Capital University offers additional scholarships for other academic and personal qualifications. However, please note:

  • Full-tuition or higher scholarships are not available for international students.
  • Scholarships are not available for the Intensive English Program.

Conservatory Performance Award $5,000 toward Tuition Audition-based award for full-time Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts in Music majors.
Music Composition Scholarship Up to $5,500 toward Tuition Based on composition portfolio and evaluation for full-time Conservatory of Music composition majors.
Sibling Award $1,000 toward Tuition Sibling must also be a full-time traditional undergraduate at Capital.
Lutheran Heritage Grant $1,000 toward Tuition 2.0 GPA or higher, child of Lutheran pastor, or identify as a member of a Lutheran Congregational Church.
Partners in Education Match up to $500 toward Tuition Your congregation has its own criteria and award amount. Capital University matches funds up to $500 contributed by Lutheran Congregations.

The Aya Ueki International Student Scholarship

The Aya Ueki International Student Scholarship was established by the parents of Aya Ueki to honor and celebrate the memory of their daughter, a former student of both Capital University and Hokuriku Gakuin University, who had a passion for global learning.

Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is available to current international students at Capital University who meet the following criteria:

  • Completed at least one semester at Capital University
  • In good academic standing
  • Demonstrated campus involvement

Scholarship Details

  • Programs Eligible: The scholarship can be used for any academic program at the university, including ESL, undergraduate, graduate studies, and the adult degree program.
  • Usage: It may be used to help cover tuition costs for the following fall and spring semesters.
  • Restrictions: It cannot be used for summer tuition or to pay off previous university debts.
