Eligible Nationalities
This scholarship is exclusively open to students from Sub-Saharan African countries.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Sciences Po, applicants must meet the following conditions:
1. Citizenship
- Be a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Applicants with dual citizenship, including a European Economic Area nationality, are not eligible.
2. Educational Background
- Hold or be completing a Bachelor’s degree at one of Sciences Po’s partner institutions.
- Alternatively, have completed or participated in a mentoring or bridging program affiliated with the Mastercard Foundation.
3. Financial Need
- Provide valid documentation to demonstrate genuine financial need (e.g., tax records, scholarship certificates).
4. Commitment to Africa
- Exhibit a strong dedication to solving challenges in Africa, such as public policy reform, environmental sustainability, or social transformation.
5. Age Requirement
- Be under 35 years old at the start of the program.
6. No Prior Master’s Degree
- Applicants with a completed Master’s degree or currently enrolled in one are ineligible.
7. Program Type
- Must apply for a two-year Master’s program. (One-year or dual/joint degree programs are not included).
