State of Bavaria Scholarship
The Free State of Bavaria is now accepting applications for its prestigious one-year scholarship program. This scholarship aims to foster academic exchange between Bavaria and Central and Eastern Europe. Talented graduates from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine are invited to apply for this unique opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies, PhDs, or research stays at Bavarian universities.
The scholarship offers a generous stipend of €934 per month, with additional support available for students with children. Awardees will have the chance to immerse themselves in Germany’s academic landscape, network with leading experts, and contribute to groundbreaking research.
Degree Level:
The State of Bavaria Scholarship 2025/2026 for International Students in Germany is available for Master’s, PhD, and research-level programs at universities in Germany.

All subjects offered at Bavarian universities are eligible for study under this scholarship program.
Benefits of the State of Bavaria Scholarship:
- Duration:
This is a one-year scholarship with the possibility of up to two extensions, allowing for a total duration of up to three years. - Stipend:
Recipients will receive €934 per month (€11,208 per year). For students with at least one child, the stipend increases to €1,094 per month (€13,128 per year).
