Scholarship Description:

The U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and AMIDEAST is pleased to announce admissions for the Tomorrow’s Leaders program. The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program is a MEPI initiative for capable and highly motivated high school seniors in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) who are from underserved backgrounds. The program will provide four-year university enrollment and internship opportunities at select institutions of higher learning in the MENA region.

University:

In one of the following University, the scholarship can be availed:

American University of Beirut (AUB),

American University in Cairo (AUC),

Lebanese American University (LAU).

Degree level:

Undergraduate Studies.

Field of Study:

All courses offered by the above mentioned universities of undergraduate program.

Scholarship Award:

Full tuition coverage (for a maximum period of four academic years) at one of the participating universities, health insurance, housing, monthly living allowance, two yearly round trip tickets from and to your home country, civic leadership and career-oriented workshops, internship opportunities, and faculty mentorship and guidance.

Nationalities:

Applicants are being recruited from AlgeriaEgyptIraqJordanLebanonMoroccoSyriaTunisia, and Yemen.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be international students

For the fall 2021 enrollment class, applicants must be citizens of Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria (Syrians residing outside of Syria), Yemen, and Iraq;

Current high school senior or applicant who graduated from high school in 2020. In Yemen, Syria and Iraq current high school senior or applicant who graduated from high school in 2019 or 2020;

Strong academic credentials:

Students who qualify may be eligible for up to one year of intensive English Language training if needed;

Maturity, flexibility and leadership potential;

Must maintain a high GPA and pass high school leaving exam in final year;

Ability to start the program in August/September of 2021.

English Language Requirement: Applicants must be Proficiency in written and spoken English with a minimum of 55 for the TOEFL iBT that is less than two years old.
