Eligibility Criteria:
The Victoria University of Wellington Tongarewa International Scholarship 2024 in New Zealand is designed for new international students (freshmen) who are fully responsible for paying international tuition fees and are commencing their undergraduate studies or beginning their first year of a postgraduate program.
Who is NOT Eligible for this Scholarship:
This scholarship does not extend to the following categories of applicants:
International students who are not covering full international tuition fees.
Students entering their second year or beyond of an undergraduate program.
Students commencing a postgraduate program who are not in their first year of study.
Individuals who completed their secondary education at a school in New Zealand.
Individuals who have successfully completed the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or Foundation Studies Programme at Victoria University of Wellington.
Students enrolled in a Study Abroad or Twinning program offered by one of our partner universities overseas.

Your application must be submitted online by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late submissions will not be considered. Ensure all required documents are submitted by the deadline for your application to be reviewed.

Complete the online application form in its entirety.
Personal Statement (500 words): Detail your reasons for choosing Victoria University, your academic aspirations, and why you believe you merit the scholarship. Highlight any leadership roles and community or school involvement.
Academic Transcripts: Provide your complete academic transcripts along with any other pertinent documentation related to your qualifications.
Offer Letter: Attach a copy of your offer of admission from Victoria University (conditional or unconditional).
Selection Process: A committee comprised of Victoria University staff members will assess applications and choose scholarship recipients.
Important Scholarship Information:
These scholarships cover a portion of your tuition fees.
The scholarship funds will be applied to your tuition fees following the final withdrawal deadline for the trimester in which you received the scholarship (typically about two weeks into the trimester).
Conditions:
To qualify for the scholarship, you must be enrolled full-time in a program for the entire scholarship duration, as defined by Studylink’s criteria.
Deferral of the scholarship to a subsequent year is not permitted.
This scholarship may be held concurrently with other awards.
Withdrawal from the university or failure to maintain satisfactory academic progress may necessitate partial repayment of the scholarship. Notify the Scholarships Office if you intend to withdraw.
Scholarship recipients may be requested to participate in university events or promotional activities as ambassadors for Victoria University.
In extraordinary circumstances, the terms and conditions of the scholarship may be adjusted to prevent hardship for applicants.
