Akita International University Scholarship (grants):

AIU students are eligible for the scholarship/financial aid programs detailed below. AIU also supports students with its own independent scholarship programs provided through the generous support of the AIU Supporters Club and other organizations.

Akita International University, Japan:

Akita International University is a public university and was founded in 2004. It is located in Akita City, Japan. This institute is one of the few universities in Japan that are offering all of its courses in English languages. It is known for its Liberal arts programs. Akita International University polishes students to become a global leaders.

Nationalities:

All international applicants can apply for AIU Ambassador Scholarships.

Degree Level:

Undergraduate students can apply for this Scholarship.


AIU Honors Program for Academic Achievement for Study-Abroad Candidates:

Amount
100,000 JPY
Eligibility
Students chosen by the university based on their academic achievement, who will go on their mandated study abroad in the next semester.

 

AIU Ambassador Subsidy:
Amount
20,000 JPY/trip (domestic), 50,000 JPY/trip (overseas)
Eligibility
Students participating in academic conference that is deemed beneficial for the university or the students themselves.

 

AIU Scholarship for Degree-Seeking Students from Akita Prefecture:
Amount
80,100 JPY/semester;
40,050 JPY/semester if tuition reduction or exemption is applied
Eligibility
Degree-seeking students from Akita prefecture who was enrolled in AIU in or after April 2012, and has duly paid tuition to the university.

 

AIU Scholarship for Degree-seeking Students from other prefectures than Akita:
Amount
Category 1: 162,200 JPY/academic year
Category 2: 106,800 JPY/academic year
Categ 3: 53,400 JPY/academic year
Eligibility
Degree-seeking undergraduates from the outside of Akita prefecture who was enrolled in AIU in or after April 2012, and has been selected as a recipient of scholarship and tuition waiver under the Japanese government’s program of “Financial Support to encourage Higher Education Enrolment” starting in April 2020, and has duly paid tuition to the university.

Application Procedure:

Candidates are required to submit an application for the undergraduate degree and submit it to Admissions Office Akita International University Yuwa, Akita-city. E-mail: [email protected].

  •  Statement of purpose
  •  Diploma / college transcript

Application Deadline:

The scholarship will open on Monday, October 25, 2021, and closed on November 4, 2021.
