The RTP scholarships are funded by the Australian Government, while the DUPR scholarships receive support from Deakin University. Open to both domestic and international students, the RTP scholarship is exclusively offered to exceptionally qualified candidates.

Degree Level:
The Deakin University HDR RTP Scholarship / DUPR Scholarship for the academic year 2024-25 is available for postgraduate and PhD-level programs at Deakin University.

Scholarship Benefits:
Stipend and Allowances Value (Terms and Conditions apply):
- A tax-exempt stipend of $30,000 per annum for 2023
- A relocation allowance ranging from $500 to $1,500 (for single to family) is awarded to students relocating from interstate or overseas to study at Deakin.
- For international students only: Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of the student visa.
Doctoral Degree Duration:
- 3 years for stipend
- 4 years for tuition fees offset
Research Master Degree Duration:
- 2 years for stipend
- 2 years for tuition fees offset
Eligible Nationalities:
This scholarship is open to students of all nationalities, including international students.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for an RTP Stipend, RTP Fees Offset, RTP Allowance, or DUPRS, a student must be enrolled in an HDR course of study at Deakin University, whether they are domestic or international.
For eligibility for an RTP Fees Offset, applicants must not be recipients of a comparable award or scholarship from the Commonwealth intended to offset HDR fees.
To be eligible for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend, a student must not receive income from another source to cover general living costs if that income exceeds 75% of the RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate. Income unrelated to the course of study or income received for the course of study but not intended to support general living costs will not be considered.

Application Procedure:
Currently enrolled HDR students can apply for an RTP or DUPRS Stipend and will be evaluated by the Faculty/Institute. Applicants who have completed more than 3 years of their doctoral course or 2 years of their master’s course (or part-time equivalent) may not apply.
