Fully Funded Master’s Scholarships in Lithuania 2025 for International Students

Lithuania, a proud member state of the European Union, is providing fully funded international student scholarships to students who are interested in pursuing full-time Master’s degrees or completing the last two years of integrated studies at approved Lithuanian universities.

These scholarships are administered by the Education Exchanges Support Foundation and are designed to develop academic exchange and promote distinguished foreign talent.

For 2025, 70 scholarships are on offer that include both living expenses and tuition fees.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful students will get:

• Living expenses of €560 per month
• Full payment of tuition fees (according to Lithuania’s national standard cost)
• Chance to study at top Lithuanian universities
• Extra Evaluation Points

Candidates can get extra points if they:

Select to study in the Lithuanian language (+2 points)

Possess a Lithuanian Bachelor’s degree or are pursuing integrated studies (+2 points)

Submit applications in the field of informatics, engineering, or life sciences (+15 points)

Special Quotas

• 20 scholarships for Ukrainian citizens

• 5 scholarships for applicants of Lithuanian origin

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must:

• Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries listed above

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) by the end of the 2024-2025 academic year, or be in the final year of integrated studies

• Prove proficiency in the language of instruction (Lithuanian, English, or another language depending on the program)

• Have an official acceptance or pre-acceptance letter from a Lithuanian university

• Belarusian applicants must possess a valid residence permit in Lithuania

Not already hold a Master’s degree or have received this scholarship previously

• For joint programs, funding is provided only for the portion of studies conducted in Lithuania

How to Apply

1. Register online via the application system (available at StudyIn.lt)

2. Select the following options during the application:

   • Scope: “Scholarships for Full-Time Master’s Degree Studies”

   • Call: “Scholarships for Full-Time Master’s Degree Studies 2025”

3. Upload the required documents in English or Lithuanian:

   • Bachelor’s degree certificate or academic transcript

   • Acceptance or pre-acceptance letter from a Lithuanian university

   • One recommendation letter (dated within the last 6 months)

   • Proof of Lithuanian origin (if applicable)

   • Valid residence permit (for Belarusian applicants)

4. Submit the completed application online only. Submissions by email or post are not accepted.

Selection Process

Applications are assessed based on:

• Motivation and academic relevance (50%)

• Academic performance during Bachelor’s studies (50%)

Important Dates

• Application Deadline: May 13, 2025 (4:00 PM, Vilnius time)

• Results Announcement: July 1, 2025

Additional Requirements

• Students must physically attend studies in Lithuania (distance learning not allowed except for temporary visa-related delays)

• Monthly stipend is paid regularly; tuition fees are covered in two installments per academic year

• Scholarship recipients must learn the Lithuanian language and complete the A1 level in their first year (unless exempt)

Scholarship Termination

The scholarship may be discontinued if the student:

• Fails to start or complete studies

• Withdraws or completes studies early

• Accumulates academic debts or takes unapproved academic leave

• Does not meet the language requirements

• Violates any other scholarship terms and conditions
