Pan African University Institutes:

These are the four institutes of the Pan African University:

  1. Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology, and Innovation (PAUSTI) located at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya.
  2. Pan African University Institute for Life and Earth Sciences – including Health and Agriculture (PAULESI) situated at the University of Ibadan (UI) in Nigeria.
  3. Pan African University Institute for Governance, Humanities, and Social Sciences (PAUGHSS) with campuses at the University of Yaounde II and the University of Buea in Cameroon.
  4. Pan African University Institute for Water and Energy Sciences – including climate change (PAUWES) based at the University of Tlemcen in Algeria.

Eligibility and Admission Requirements:

The eligibility criteria for the 2023/2024 Pan African University Postgraduate Scholarships Awards are divided into the following categories:

Masters Programmes Admission Requirements:

To be eligible for admission to the Masters Programmes, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants should be no older than 30 years (for male applicants) and 35 years (for female applicants).
  • Possess an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with a minimum of a second class upper division or its equivalent, in a relevant field.
  • Submit certified copies of relevant certificates and transcripts from both university and high school.
  • Provide a clear, colored passport size photograph (2cmx2cm).
  • Present a detailed CV (Curriculum Vitae).
  • Include a recommendation letter from one of their former university lecturers.
  • Provide the names of three reference university lecturers along with their email addresses and WhatsApp numbers (mandatory).

Doctoral Programmes Admission Requirements:

Candidates applying for the Doctoral Programmes must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Some candidates might need to undergo a written/oral examination after pre-selection.

Note for Master in Conference Interpreting and Translation Programmes:

  • Applicants to the Master in Conference Interpreting and Translation programmes are required to have an excellent command of at least two of the African Union’s official languages. These languages include Arabic, English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
