PhD Scholarship:
We invite qualified candidates to apply for a Jamieson Trauma Institute-funded PhD scholarship in the Science and Engineering Faculty. You will be involved in the development and testing of AI-based methods for detecting and classifying bone fractures on clinical radiographic images. A possible extension of the project is virtually-reconstructed 3D models of the bone fragments from routine orthogonal 2D radiographs.

- an annual stipend of $30,000 for up to three and a half years of full-time study

Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- commence full-time study at QUT prior to 30 June 2021
- currently live in Australia due to COVID-19 international travel restrictions
- not have already completed a PhD or equivalent degree
- hold a relevant degree of at least a first-class honours or equivalent, including:
- engineering
- informatics
- physics
- other related branch of study
- demonstrate skills in:
- mathematics
- programming
- artificial intelligence (AI) methods
- image processing
- oral and written communication.
