CQUniversity offers Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarships funded by the Australian Government. The scholarship aims to provide financial support to students undertaking a research higher degree (RHD) course of study, by providing funding for their living costs. The scholarship is valued at $32,000 per annum and can be awarded for up to 3 years, depending on the course of study.
Eligibility Criteria:
The scholarship is open to both domestic and international students enrolled in an accredited RHD course of study at CQUniversity. There are no restrictions based on gender or ethnicity. Applicants must be studying full-time and cannot receive income from any other source that exceeds 75% of the RTP Stipend rate and is intended to support general living expenses. Applicants must also not be receiving any other equivalent scholarship or award from the Commonwealth that is intended to offset RHD tuition fees.
Scholarship Assessment Scale:
The RTP Stipend Scholarship is merit-based, and applicants will be assessed using a Scholarship Assessment Scale divided into three categories of performance. The first category is academic achievement and writing skills, which is worth up to 20 points. The second category is the quality of the research project and its alignment with CQUniversity’s research priority areas, which is worth up to 15 points. The final category is evidence of motivation, research experience, and research environment, which is also worth up to 15 points.
Supporting Documentation:
Applicants must include all necessary supporting documents with their application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The only supporting documentation required is a written submission.
RTP Stipend Scholarship Benefits:
The scholarship provides a living allowance stipend paid fortnightly to the recipient through the University’s payroll system. Domestic students who are awarded an RTP Stipend Scholarship will also be offered an RTP Fees Offset Scholarship, which fully extinguishes the candidate’s tuition liability for the period of the Offset Scholarship.
Application Process:
There are no direct applications for RTP Scholarships. Applicants must discuss their interest in an RHD Scholarship with their supervisory team, who will then recommend the applicant to the School of Graduate Research for the scholarship. The School of Graduate Research will then invite the applicant to complete an application if they are eligible. Applicants will be notified by email when the scholarships have been awarded.
