To be eligible for the scholarship program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Criteria 1:

To be considered for the scholarship program, applicants must have received an offer to pursue a full-time taught master’s course at one of UAL’s Colleges and Institutes, starting in 2023/24. The course must offer a Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MBA, MRes or MSc qualification. It’s important to note that applicants who already hold a UK postgraduate taught qualification (or an equivalent level qualification) from studies undertaken in the UK or abroad are not eligible to apply.

Criteria 2:

To qualify for our list of low income economy countries, it is necessary for you to be a resident of one of the countries specified below. However, developed countries such as Canada, China, Japan, UK, USA, and the European Union/EEA member states are not included in the list. If your country is not on the list, you may still be eligible for other funding options such as the UAL International Postgraduate £7,000 Scholarship. As part of your application, please provide evidence such as immigration documents, ID card, or proof of address.

Criteria 3:

At the time of submitting your application, your yearly household earnings should not exceed £50,000 or its corresponding value in the currency of a qualifying country. You can check the current exchange rates by visiting Oanda Trade Currency Exchange.

Criteria 4:

As part of your scholarship application, you are required to submit a personal statement that answers the following questions. Please ensure that your response to each question does not exceed 350 words:

  • How would being awarded a postgraduate scholarship impact you personally?
  • Explain how you plan to utilize the qualification you will obtain to support your future endeavors.
  • Detail your strategy for addressing the challenges faced in your home country.
  • Share your approach to promoting social justice and environmental stewardship, reflecting the values upheld by the scholarship committee. Additionally, please provide supporting evidence where applicable to strengthen your application.

Application Procedure:

After being accepted for a course at UAL, you can access scholarship application forms on the ‘my finance and funding’ tab of your applicant portal if you meet the eligibility criteria. UAL will notify you via email about the outcome of your scholarship application. It’s important to note that incomplete or tardy applications may not be taken into consideration.
