The application process is streamlined through the Harmonized Scholarship Process, enabling both current and prospective students to be automatically considered for various scholarships managed by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) by submitting a single application. These include prestigious scholarships like the Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship, Killam Predoctoral Scholarships, Vitamin Scholarship, and the Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship.

Applicants are encouraged to check with their respective programs for internal application deadlines, typically falling in early December. It is crucial to submit all required materials by this deadline to ensure eligibility for review, as late submissions may disqualify the application.

Dalhousie University Scholarships for the academic year 2024-25, Canada (Fully Funded Scholarships), are available for Master’s and PhD level programs at Dalhousie University.

Scholarship Benefits:

Dalhousie University Scholarships comprise various categories, each offering different levels of financial support:

  1. Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship: Offers $10,000 annually for two years for Master’s recipients, and $15,000 annually for four years for Doctoral recipients, subject to renewal.
  2. Killam Predoctoral Scholarships: Master’s (Level 1) students receive up to $42,000 per year for a maximum of two years, along with an additional $2,500 for international tuition fees and a relocation allowance if applicable. Doctoral (Level 2) students are eligible for up to $42,000 per year for a maximum of three years, with a relocation allowance if necessary.
  3. Vitamin Scholarship: Valued at $19,000 for Master’s students and $21,000 for Doctoral students for an academic year spanning 12 months.
  4. Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship: Valued at $40,000 for one full-time academic year, renewable for a maximum of 24 months of full-time study.

Application Procedure:

Follow these steps when applying for Dalhousie University Scholarships:

  1. Log into the FGS Scholarship Management Platform using your Dalhousie NetID or create an account if you don’t have one.
  2. Create a new scholarship application or modify an existing one. Each applicant is allowed only one application per competition.
  3. Master’s applicants for the Tri-Agency CGS-M competition can opt-in to use their CGS-M application within the Harmonized Scholarship Process.
  4. Complete the self-identification questionnaire in the Online Scholarship Platform.
  5. Progress through the application, saving to return later for edits or updates.
  6. Upload official transcripts directly in the scholarship portal.
  7. Ensure all reference letters are submitted by the deadline, which is January 16, 2024 (or February 15 for non-thesis applicants).
  8. Finalize and submit the application by agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Please note that application withdrawal for changes is allowed until the January 15 deadline. If withdrawn, the application must be resubmitted by the deadline for consideration.
