Fully Funded Australian Government Research Training Scholarship Description:

The Australian government is providing Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships, to support both local and international students, who are studying postgraduate research degrees.

While applications are open all year round, it is recommended that you submit your HDR admission by October to receive an outcome by February.

University:

The University of Sydney is a public research university, founded in 1850.  It is one of Australia’s 6 sandstone universities. The British Daily Telegraph and The Huffington Post ranks Its campus in the top 10 of the world’s most beautiful universities, spreading across the inner-city suburbs of Camperdown and Darlington. The university comprises nine faculties and university schools, through which it offers bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees.

Each winning candidate will get the following benefits and awards:

  • A stipend of $27,596 per annum
  • Medical Funds
  • Travel expenses
  • up to $420 for Masters candidates
  • up to $840 for Doctoral candidates
  • Paid maternity leave
  • Research funds

Eligibility Criteria:

Students who have applied for admission to a higher degree by research (HDR), and selected the relevant box in the application form will be considered for this scholarship.

Applying Procedure Instructions:

You can apply for these scholarships at any time of the year, as scholarships are awarded all year round.

To be considered for a scholarship, you must:

  1. complete your application for admission in postgraduate research to the relevant faculty, and select the checkbox to be considered for research scholarships
  2. ensure your application includes all relevant supporting documents, referring to the RTP/UPA applicant information pack and research experience guide and evidence template.

Unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to re-apply if their situation changes, such as the publication of an article or further related professional experience.
