Application Procedure:

Required Application Materials:

Cover Letter:

  • Include essential details such as your name, UBC student number, UBC graduate program, name of UBC supervisor, and referees’ names providing letters of recommendation.
  • Important: Stick to the specified items and avoid including any extra information.

Proof of Enrollment or Acceptance:

  • Current UBC students can obtain proof of enrollment through their SSC account in ‘Grades and Records’ > ‘Proof of Enrollment letters.’

Research Project Description:

  • Maximum four pages, double-spaced.
  • Must include proposed timelines.

Transcripts:

  • For UBC transcripts, the “Academic History” document printed by your graduate program is accepted.
  • For transcripts from institutions other than UBC, only official transcripts will be accepted.
  • Ensure transcripts are up-to-date, printed in the Summer 2022 term (if currently registered) or after the final term completed (if graduated).
  • Include the grading key/legend for each institution.
  • Transcripts in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by an official English translation.

Letters of Recommendation:

  • Two letters from professors or researchers, one of whom must be your research supervisor.

CV (Curriculum Vitae):

  • Up-to-date CV with no page limit.

Presentation Standards:

  • Minimum 10-point font for free-form documents.
