The WB JPA 2023-24 is a two-year entry-level professional program that offers paid international opportunities at the World Bank. It is important to note that this program is not extendable, and selection for this program does not guarantee a lifetime job at the World Bank. However, participating in this program can increase the chances of being hired for World Bank jobs after completing the two-year program. It should be noted that young associates must leave the World Bank immediately upon completing the entry-level two-year program. This opportunity is available at every World Bank office around the world, and there are no restrictions based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, color, or any other factors. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Graduates from all nationalities and from around the world are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must hold a bachelor’s or equivalent degree.
  • Applicants must be no older than 28 years of age on their first day of employment.
  • Applicants must be fluent and proficient in English.
  • Knowledge and fluency in more than one of the World Bank’s official languages (Arabic, French, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish) is considered an advantage.
  • Junior Professional Associates (JPAs) may be reappointed following a two-year “Cooling Off” period, during which they must leave the World Bank after completing the program. Only after this two-year cooling-off period, can they reapply.
  • Staff members who are already on Extended Term Consultant (ETC) contracts are not eligible to apply.

How to Apply:

  • The application for the World Bank Junior Professional Associates program is submitted online via the World Bank’s external career website.
  • If a potential JPA is identified by the hiring manager, they must also apply online.
  • It is important to provide all the required information accurately, as incorrect information may result in disqualification.
  • The application will remain active in the database for six months.
  • If an applicant wishes to reapply after six months, they will need to submit a new application.
  • Hiring managers will select associates based on the information provided in the database.
  • Hiring managers have full access to the information provided in the database.
  • No application selection will be left unattended.
  • Applicants must acknowledge the World Bank’s policies before submitting their application.
